We are extremely pleased by the positive reception for our new Series on HGTV Canada, Consumed (Tuesday nights at 10pm ET/PT). From the beginning of production to the current on-air episodes, the Show is making a positive difference in people’s lives. Being consumed with clutter is an issue we can all relate to, and thanks to our host and professional declutterer Jill Pollack and handyman Darren Doyle, Canadians are being inspired towards positive change.
Working with the incredibly talented Ron Sexsmith on the film Love Shines has been a memorable, ‘just try to top that’ highlight for us. This is a man with a gift for songwriting and the respect of his peers as one of the greatest songwriters of his time. It is for this reason and many more that our hearts swell to see Ron Sexsmith in the spotlight as a shortlisted musician for the Polaris Music Prize.
There is no challenge too big for Paperny Films’ veteran host Bob Blumer. His latest competitive event is this year’s Gemini Awards, where he’s been nominated as ‘Best Host in a Lifestyle/Practical Information, or Performing Arts Program or Series’ on Paperny’s long-running series Glutton for Punishment. We at Paperny Films are extremely proud of our boy Bob. No doubt he’s celebrating in a big outrageous way!
Jay Semko, the composer on our new History series Dust Up, has been shortlisted for Songwriter of the Year in the 2011 Western Canadian Music Awards for his song ‘Before You Leave Canada.’ Well done Jay! Jay is a huge musical talent and we’re thrilled to see him recognized by his peers.
