When we had the idea to create a digital film contest and open it up to young Canadian filmmakers, we knew we’d be tapping into one of Canada’s rich, yet relatively unexplored, creative communities. We knew the response would be overwhelming, but we could not have prepared ourselves for the the quality of entries that we had both the privilege and challenge of judging.
With spring in the air, a new royal couple creating a home together and the intro to Vogue's Spring 2011 fashion spread focused on shedding unnecessary clutter, it is only natural that we start to look at our own spaces with the desire to spruce them up. Our latest HGTV series, Consumed, is all about shedding unnecessary clutter and specifically, tackling it head on with a little tough love. Let's face it - most of us are drowning in TOO MUCH STUFF.
May is another exciting month for Love Shines. Ron Sexsmith fans can look forward to three screenings at the Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto and the film broadcasting on HBO Canada. To celebrate, we have two contests in the works, one with the Toronto Film Scene Online Magazine and the other on the Love Shines Facebook Page.
Grilled cheese sandwiches, Korean fusion, and seafood chowder are all on the menu for new street food experiences in Vancouver this summer, after the City of Vancouver approved 19 new food cart vendors this week. A street food revolution is upon us!
