When we had the idea to create a digital film contest and open it up to young Canadian filmmakers, we knew we’d be tapping into one of Canada’s rich, yet relatively unexplored, creative communities. We knew the response would be overwhelming, but we could not have prepared ourselves for the the quality of entries that we had both the privilege and challenge of judging.
First, our hats go off to all of the contestants who submitted contest videos. They were thoughtful, funny & inspiring. It did our hearts good to experience first-hand the vast array of talent in Canada.
We’ve narrowed the contest down to three talented finalists whose films range from gritty to trendy. Now we need you to pick a winner!

The three films up for voting are spotlighted below. Take a few minutes to watch the short clip from each entrant and submit your vote - http://papernyfilms.com/contest.
Will you be inspired by the tough love message of Fists of Vancouver, an Alex Poutiainen entry?
Or will you be uplifted by Gary W. Hayes’ and Jackie Chan’s message of triumph in The Challengers?
Maybe you will tempted to follow cutting edge trends from different cultures around the globe in The Coolhunter by Clayton Goodfellow, Lindsay Eeson & Zandro Salvo.
Whatever trailer finds you wanting more, be sure to vote before May 15th with a quick click of your mouse at http://papernyfilms.com/contest and give our young Canadian artists a platform to create more great work (not to mention $3000.00 and a one month internship at Paperny Films in Vancouver).
